The Jerry O’Connell Hip Wallet – Instructions

THE HIP WALLET
The Jerry O’Connell Hip Wallet is a great wallet for everyday use as well as a performance wallet, it’s pretty much identical to any regular non-magic hip wallet you may see and as with all of Jerry’s products, it’s exquisitely made of the very best leather, but with the added bonus of being a ‘card to wallet’ wallet.  Simply load the card behind the coin pocket and produce from a zipped pocket inside the wallet.
Unfortunately, the JOL Hip Wallet does not take Bonsalopes or any other kind of envelope as there are no loading tongues within the wallet and very little room to fit one.

Here’s an additional great little bonus routine by Gary Jones

“I’ve come up with a way of doing a signed card to wallet using the standard palm wallets……but without having to palm!

It requires a duplicate card but it’s only used in a way that it’s just shown and its never in the deck.

Setup, palm wallet in jacket pocket (JOL hip in trouser pocket etc) and next to it a duplicate card, say the 4D.

When ready to perform bring the duplicate 4D second from top. Have a card selected and signed, control it to the top of the deck. Position check, top signed selection, 2nd from top indifferent card, 3rd from top duplicate 4D then the rest of the deck.

Double lift to show indifferent card, turn double down and say you will place this card into your pocket, but place it straight into your wallet (this is a Paul Gordon idea). Do another double and show the 4D, turn down the double and place this card (it’s the indifferent card) onto the spectator’s hand. All the work is done…

Ask the spectator to have a look at the card in their hand, at the same time reach into your pocket and instead of bringing the card out, which will be the duplicate 4D, remove your wallet first and place it onto the table, the remove the 4D. This completes the first effect and it’s a very strong two card transpo…..I just put the duplicate 4D straight back into my pocket at this point thereby instantly resetting.

You are now in a lovely position, the signed selection is loaded and the wallet is out on the table….with a little time misdirection you’re done.” – Gary Jones
