How to use a Harry Robson Roughing Stick

The roughing stick is my favourite way to rough cards. It is accurate, clean and quick. No mess and no fumes!

Personally, I don't cover the whole card because in most tricks the cards may need to be spread on demand and by having rough free areas that is super easy and doesn't require a deft touch. When making an invisible deck I do a quick stripe in the middle on the back of each card. I can then confidently spread through two at a time with my thumb in the middle of the cards, to spread at the named card, I just lower my thumb to the bottom third of the card and push normally.

If making packet tricks, covering coresponding areas of each card could help make them either be dispalyed or remain hidden.
