Rough and Smooth which spray or stick?

There are a few different ways to rough and smooth a deck depending upon your needs. Personally, for a traditional rough and smooth deck such as an Invisible deck I prefer to use Harry Robson's Roughing stick. A stick requires less space and no flumes so it is easier. Also if you only what to cover a specific area (easier to control) you can be really accurate.

A standard rough and smooth deck is made with a spray, we recommend Rust-o-leum Clear Coat Matt Clear Lacquer. You need to lay out the cards out and spray in a well ventilated area. It is possible to cover just a section of each cards but it is less accurate than a roughing stick.

Plastidip is an alternative spray with which you only need to apply to one card and it will rough to any unroughed (smooth) card. This is useful for tricks involving unforced selections and packet tricks where you aren't sure which card the roughed card will be adjacent to.
