More Power to You -The Very Best of David Acer
Let me be very clear, if you are any sort of magician, you should read everything David Acer has written. I don't care if you only do dice stacking at funerals of close friends or you have been a worker for 40 years, reading his tricks and ideas will show you how magic can be squeezed into daily life as well as giving you some damn strong effects with the standard cards and coins.
This book is called 'The very best of David Acer', but who the hell is qualified to choose what should be eliminated from the vast amount David has created over the years. I had a mixture of joy as I found effects I felt should be included but was left miffed at some of the exclusions. I guess you can't please everybody and I could argue 'Maxwells Silver Hammer' should be on 'The Beatles Greatest Hits' album. Of course David himself points out on the cover no scientific study was done.
Thankfully the effects: Money Flies, Changes, Rink and Time Flies are included.
The real reason for getting this book is either as taster into David's work, or for the tricks which are from his book Natural Selections 1 which is criminally now out of print.
It is a quality hardbound book and a decent 175 pages long. It is a joy to read and choke full of stuff you should perform.
